Colorfull Color Hardener

Product Description

Colorfull Color Hardener puts color control and consistency in your hands. Colors unattainable in integral use have virtually no limitations using a color hardener. Integral color can vary with changes in cement, water content and weather conditions. Color hardener is a consistent source and helps eliminate color variations while expanding your color choices. Colorfull Color Hardener is a blend of cements, other mineral binders, carefully graded silica sands, non-fading synthetic iron oxide pigments and dispersing agents. It forms a tough, durable surface ideal for stamping or brooming. Colorfull Color Hardener can also be used to "flash" or intermittently color portions of concrete to add depth and versatility to concrete that is to be stamped.

Use

Apply Colorfull Color Hardener after the concrete has been placed, screeded, floated and the concrete substrate has reached the point where no excess bleed water shows at the surface but is still plastic. It is applied by the dry-shake or broadcast methods. As a complete coloring system, two thirds of the material is spread on the surface in a uniform manner. The concrete is then floated (troweled). The remaining material is then applied paying close attention to areas of uneven or weak color tones; another floating is then performed. A small quantity of material should be withheld from the second shake for touching up, if necessary, non-uniform or weak-toned areas. The concrete is then finished to the specified texture. This material is ideal for use with powdered or liquid stamp releases when an imprinted pattern finish is required.

Limitations

Colorfull Color Hardener is only suitable for use on freshly poured, plastic concrete surfaces.

Coverage

Colorfull Color Hardener requires ½ to ¾ of a pound per square foot. Depending upon the color, 50 pounds of material will cover approximately 80-100 square feet. Lighter pastel colors generally will require about 50 pounds for every 70 square feet. Timing plays an important role in the amount of material required. If the material is applied too soon, the color will be absorbed into the surface substrate thus taking more material to color the surface. If applied too late, color will not adhere to the surface. Over troweling can work the color below the surface causing the gray of the cement to show through.
